Uganda Women Empowerment through Crafts - UWEC Coiled Bowls
Sample Designs
These coiled baskets are made
of dried banana sticks (the middle of the banana leaves) and raffia. Diameter ranges from 11 to 13
inches with a depth of 3-4 inches. Smaller 7 inch baskets
are also available. Each basket, though similar in design reflects
the particular artisan's style. They are sturdy as fruit baskets,
or they can be hung on the wall as decoration.
